Disbursement Information

Financial aid disbursements are made on a monthly basis through the BankMobile Vibe account or Direct Deposit using BankMobile services. Financial Aid funds will be disbursed to students by the disbursement method chosen by the student (direct deposit or Vibe Account). If a student fails to register for the card or direct deposit, by default, a check will be mailed to the home address on file with the college within 21 days of disbursement. Students are strongly encouraged to register for direct deposit or the Vibe account, as both are the most secure methods of disbursement available to a student. (Our contract with BankMobile is on our website.) 

Each semester, a students’ Pell Grant is disbursed twice a semester.  Disbursements are split half at the beginning and half at the end of the semester.  Disbursement dates and amounts will vary depending on file complete date, eligibility,  adding or dropping a class, late start classes, and date of transmittal. Students initially awarded after the 2nd disbursement will receive 100% of that term’s eligibility.

Prepaid Card – Crafton Hills College has partnered with BankMobile to allow students to receive their funds as quickly and securely as possible. The following funds are currently disbursed to Prepaid Cards and direct deposit:

1. Pell Grant
2. SEOG Grant
3. Cal Grants (California grant)
4. SSCG (Student Success Completion Grant)
5. Chafee Grant
6. Most Emergency Grants

FWS Funds are disbursed directly to students through a monthly paycheck by the San Bernardino Community College District. (Unless students have registered for direct deposit through the Payroll Department.)

Fall 2024 Semester Starts August 12, 2024

Spring 2024 Semester Starts January 21, 2025

Lifetime Eligibility – Effective July 1, 2012, Federal Pell Grant funds you may receive over your lifetime are limited by federal law to the equivalent of six full years (or 12 semesters of full-time enrollment). This includes Pell funding received at community colleges, vocational schools, and four-year public and private universities for the life of your academic career and is prorated if you are enrolled and receive Pell funding for less than full-time enrollment.

Once you have reached the 600%/6-year full-time enrollment limit, you are not eligible for any additional Pell funding, and there are no exceptions or appeals. Also, once you have earned a bachelor’s degree, you are no longer eligible for a Pell Grant even if you haven’t received the entire 600% eligibility. You may check your current Pell Lifetime Eligibility at www.nslds.gov.

Refund Policy/Institutional Charges 

Students should be aware that while Crafton Hills College’s school policy determines the charge students will owe after withdrawing, the school refund policy will not affect the amount of Title IV aid the student earns under the federal return calculation. Mandatory fees, including Enrollment Fees, Student Center Fees, and Health Fees, are required to be included in any Title IV calculation. Enrollment Status

Enrollment status is determined based on the number of Title IV eligible units you are officially enrolled in according to your student record. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all course adds, and drops have been properly, promptly, and accurately posted to your record.
